Thought Guild follows up their outstanding CD release of "Context" from 2002. "Continuum" carries a nice balance of showy adventures in the realm of space music, such as the opening track, "Gentle Atoms and Track 3, "Return To The Sun". Great, upbeat, driving melodies wash out from under the synths; thus allowing you to hyper-drive through your astral voyage, in these two cuts in particular. Other pieces bring you on a peaceful journey through interstellar space, such as track 2, "Holophonic Consciousness", track 6, "Elliptical Orbit" and track 9, "Reflections In Sublimation". Very well done!

There are lots of pretenders to the "Jonn Serrie", "Geodesium" throne of outstanding, never-boring space music. The guys of "Thought Guild", Gregory Kyryluk and Christopher Cameron, deliver the real sonic adventures you're looking for. Buy this one and "Context", too.

"Continuum" is the second cd from Gregory Kyryluk (also known as Alpha Wave Movement) and his companion Christopher Cameron. On their debut album "Context" the duo already handled their analogue and digital synthesizers in an inventive manner.

The result on "Continuum" turns out even better, offering 56 minutes of classic but fresh sounding electronic music. The nine tracks are filled with great melodic layers of sound, sparkling analogue sequencing and nice effects, although it must be said the longer tracks come on much stronger than the shorter ones.

"Gentle Atoms" e.g. is an excellent opener which vaguely reminds of the work of Baffo Banfi. On "Solus", where the duo is joined by a guest musician on e-bow guitar, things get dynamic with some massive drum patterns and sequencing.

This dynamic impact also applies to "Empathic Implant" which features some heavy drums.
In all, the very well produced music of Thought Guild is very attractive and accessible, deserving both thumbs up!

honestly this album takes quite a bit of time and many listening rounds to actually "get into". No doubt it is technically excellent, with more advanced composition elements than earlier records, however it isn't that easily accessible either. Perhaps this is actually a strength as each time you will listen to there will be more details to discover. MR

another excellent Redshift album. It is both dark (as the album picture suggests) yet is full of highly dynamic and very clever inter twisted "sequencing at its best". Besides the two larger tracks (Sister Moon and Colder), one of the short pieces "Azure" is equally brilliant, and almost unusually melodic. MR
